Rubber Expansion Joint
Flexible solution – fully watertight – smooth operation
A rubber expansion joint is a common solution for bridges with small to medium movements. The system works based on the elastic deformation capacity of the rubber strip, combined with fixed anchorage steel plates, to absorb thermal and load-induced movements while ensuring watertightness and effectively reducing noise.
Configuration

Rubber (EPDM / Neoprene) – abrasion resistant, highly elastic, and resistant to ozone, UV, and chemicals.

Reinforcing Steel Plate – increases stiffness and strength, and supports bonding with the rubber strip.

Ranura (Interlocking Groove) – provides space for rubber deformation and interlocks with the anchorage steel plate.

Sealing Block – enhances waterproofing and prevents dust and water ingress.

Fitting Portion – ensures a secure connection among components and to the deck surface.

Nut Plate – ensures uniform tightening force and stable fixation of the rubber strip.

Kidney-shaped Cap – protects the anchor end, reduces noise, and resists impact.

Nuts – secure the connection system and ensure load transfer to the structure.

Bolt – firmly anchors the entire expansion joint system to the concrete structure.
